Russell's Last Runs - April 2025
We at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway / Rheilffordd Ucheldir Cymru, Porthmadog are pleased to announce that our flagship loco Russell will undertake several runs over the WHR before it is withdrawn for a 10-year overhaul.
We are pleased to have a number of special 'LAST RUN' trains from Porthmadog (Harbour Station) to Beddgelert or Caernarfon, using *Russell* and our vintage carriages. We thank our friends at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways for the opportunity to run these trains.

Ticketing will be handled by the WHHR, not the F&WHR, and you can book online now.

Saturday 19th April - Russell’s Last Day of Operation
The last chance to ride behind Russell on the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway will be Saturday 19th April.
We will finally say goodbye to Russell on Saturday 19th April at our Easter Bunnies event with your last chance to ride behind the engine before overhaul. Russell will haul all departures between Porthmadog and Pen-y-mount that day.
