The Heritage Train Project aims to create an entire train of original and replica carriages for the WHR. Based at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, the train will include the oldest narrow gauge buffet car in existence, and the original observation saloon in which the Prime Minister, William Gladstone, rode in when he visited Snowdonia in 1892.


Some of the train has already been completed: our next projects are refurbishment of the historic Gladstone Coach and building a replica of one of the long-disappeared WHR Pickering brake composites.
